A pioneer and a leader in Responsible Investment
Since the creation of the group in 2010, ESG has been at the heart of Amundi’s growth story. Responsible investment was one of our four founding pillars and remains the cornerstone of our development.
As a responsible asset manager, our role is to deliver long-term sustainable value for our clients and all our stakeholders, by taking into account the major challenges our world and society are facing. We are convinced that the private sector must integrate environmental, societal and governance factors in its analysis and decisions for three main reasons:
100% of actively managed open-ended funds will integrate environmental transition ratings
Establish a broad “net-zero” offering
Expand impact investment solutions, reaching €20bn of assets in impact strategies
Enlarge RI in passive management, 40% of ETF range will be ESG ETF
Provide clients with access to cutting edge sustainability analytics through ALTO Sustainability
two
Deepening the integration of ESG in our investment solutions
Divest from unconventional hydrocarbons by 2022*
Deploy a climate engagement plan with more than 1,000 companies
three
Setting objectives internally in line with commitments
Capture shareholders’ opinions on Amundi’s climate strategy
Reduction of Amundi’s operational emissions by -30% per employee
Embed an extensive integration of ESG criteria into the remuneration policy
“Our new “ESG Plan 2025” is even more demanding and aims to align all of our stakeholders: investors, companies, employees and shareholders. The acceleration of our ESG commitments will be Amundi's primary growth lever around the world.”

Amundi Net Zero Ambition; seeking to make decarbonisation an investment reality
Climate change is one of the biggest challenges of our time. Geographically each of us are experiencing the effects in different ways, whether it be increased temperatures, forest fires, droughts or flooding to name but a few. It can also have a negative effect on biodiversity, health and food*. There is no disputing that despite generating the lowest emission that developing countries are being hit the hardest.
It's time to take action: together it's more powerful
Humans and human induced activities have led to an increase in Greenhouse Gas Emissions (GHGs), which in turn triggered a need for action and in 2015**, at COP21, 195 parties adopted the Paris Agreement***. The Paris Agreement aims to “keep global temperature increase ‘well below’ 2°C”, but also to “pursue efforts to limit it to 1.5°C”. But, as things stand, the world is not on track to meet this target.
In order to achieve the objective set out by the Paris Agreement, we need drastic change in the way our local and global economies operate. We believe this can be achieved by aligning policies and strategies with carbon reduction goals.
Since the Paris Agreement in 2015, Amundi has strengthened its ambition to support climate action across geographies and asset classes. And as part of this commitment, we joined the Net Zero Asset Managers (NZAM) initiative in July 2021, committing to support the global objective of carbon neutrality by 2050 or sooner.
In line with our Net Zero ambition, Amundi unveiled in December 2021 a 2025 ESG Ambition Plan, covering ten goals highlighted in three target areas. The 3 main commitments are to strengthen Amundi’s offer in ESG saving products to serve sustainable development, deepen our engagement towards investee companies, and set objectives internally in line with our ESG ambitions.
